The Townsville Hospital and Health Board met on 15 May 2023 at Townsville University Hospital. The meeting was chaired by Board Chair, Mr Tony Mooney AM and attended by eight members of the Board.

Summary of the Townsville Hospital and Health Board meeting held 08 May 2023 and Board activities in the reporting period

The Townsville Hospital and Health Board met on 08 May 2023 at Townsville University Hospital. The meeting was chaired by Board Deputy Chair, Mrs Michelle Morton and attended by seven members of the Board.

The Board received updates from the board committees which met in reporting period, including:

• Board Finance Committee
• Board Safety and Quality Committee

The Board received an executive report and performance report from the Health Service Chief Executive, Kieran Keyes.

The Board received updates on key focus areas, which included:

• Service agreement performance report
• Human Resources inclusive of leadership development programs
• Release of information processes follow up
• Magnetic Island Health Service Strategy
• Cultural strategy update

Board activities

Representatives of the Board participated in several key meetings and events in the reporting period, these included but were not limited:

• Official opening of acute admission unit
• Arts in Health Advisory Committee
• Anzac Day dawn service at Townsville University Hospital
• Townsville Hospital and Health Service culture strategy workshop
• Clinical Council meeting
• Various Board advisory councils and stakeholder meetings
